I tip my hat to the business owner who at the end of the day can barely get a word out because she got her ass kicked by the day’s events. The lady who is so disorganized that she can’t delegate the simplest task because she’s overwhelmed and can’t see the forest through the trees. Or the guy who has such a love for his concept that despite the horrible reviews and press coverage, seems completely unfazed to see it through.
These people appear to be successful despite themselves. At gatherings, I’ve heard these very same people referred to as “a mess” or he’s “running in circles” and she’s “spinning her wheels.” Although that may be true, it doesn’t matter because they’ve got grit. They don’t give up. They don’t care what you or I think. They’ll press on and figure it out. Sure, they may need to take a step back, slow down and retool here and there, but even if they don’t, they’ll still succeed because they don’t give up. They have grit.
